It was actually the....ehem....other stuff that caught me by surprise....
I mean. I swear. I checked. I handled him all the time when he was sick. I fed him with the syringe when he was teeny tiny and I played with him when he got better. There was NOTHING there. I wonder if it is possible that he was so sick they simply weren't developed enough? I dunno. but, I mean. I was shocked how one day there was nothing there and now, there certainly are two thingies there.

For those who crochet and like clean edges...

I need to block this scarf but I can't block this scarf. It is 12' long and the only place I have to stretch out something that long to dry is my back yard. Last time I blocked the first one of these scarves I made it took 1.5 days to dry in my back yard in the summer.

So I'm giving her an unblocked scarf, with wavy edges due to seven different yarns, with a promise to block it in the summer if she even cares about that kind of thing.

But I care and it's driving me nuts, though I already put it in a box and wrapped it so I would not be stupid and try and block it in the winter.

 

The thing that saves me time when it comes to uneven edges is slipping the first and last knots.

 

Granted I'm always fiddling with my project to try and get the stitches as tight as possible. So, that may not be as helpful as it sounds come to think of it.

It's the sides of the scarf all the way down. While the yarn is all the same weight, and 4 out of 7 colors were the same brand even, when stitched up the rows of colors are slightly different widths and the thinner yarns "suck" in. When I blocked the last one that fixed it. Not sure if it held up, lol, I haven't seen it since I gave it away, but...at least it wasn't all "curvy" when I handed it off!

I'm like 99% sure the 16 year old I'm giving this one to won't care at all.

 

The edges on the individual stripes are poifect. Been crocheting long enough that my stitches are very, very even.
