Not everyone is going to go out and build a $1k+ gaming rig just to turk, my dude. Not everyone needs a machine that powerful.

Nah! I fiddled with it, noticed it was slower than my turtle and tossed it back.

 

We aren't really sure what the true system reqs (i.e. sufficient, not necessary) are, as we only have 5-6 computers to test on. I've been trying to update the list we have as we get feedback. If I had to guess, most machines from the last 2-3 years should be sufficient, but I hesitate to put that in there because I'm sure there are some older machines with great specs (like a fancy gaming computer) that would work fine too.

 

the biggest thing is if integrated graphics are going to be fine or not.

My 8 year old thinkpad worked just fine
8gb ram
gen 1 i7 2.70ghz
no graphics card

 

tl;dr the problem is old and cheap laptops. A nearly decade old desktop on the other hand won't have problems

 

My laptop is 8 months old. It runs things pretty well. Still, slow loading HIT.

 

They also posts HITs for that on mturk... Heard the pay is down near skid row though.

 

I have a GTX 560Ti, which is pretty old, but I can play Rocket League just fine, if that means anything.

 

There are plenty of laptops that are ass straight out of the box. Age doesn't equal quality.
