I'm good now that he is home. Had to get after the boys to help out a bit more since he can't lift a lot or go up and down the steps a lot and I can't do those things either. The laundry baskets were stacking up in my living room.

I'm worried about his long term health his father had the same issue and lived about 13 years after it first started but then he never quit smoking hoping Dave is done with that now

Whatever you can do to get him to quit, please do it? My dad had triple heart bypass surgery and lived 7 years after that only to succumb to cancer. He couldn't quit smoking either. He was utterly addicted to it. I lost him last year and it still breaks my heart to think about it. He needed help to quit but he was also so very stubborn. I don't know if I could have helped him quit if I lived with him but I know his environment didn't help him quit. I hope you can help your husband quit.
