    My mom gave a lot to them.

    Thing about trees is they use fast-growing pulp trees then that stuff ends up in the landfill. Really, we should separate paper and not recycle it but BURY it. If you bury it with wet stuff or other organic material it turns into methane and CO2 from biology. But if you grow those trees, the trees are literally made out of CO2 and water, then you bury the paper where it can't break down.... Voila, carbon sink.
