    oh, i guess another horrible religious thing i encountered was someone telling me at my dad's memorial service that i shouldn't have had him cremated and berated me a bit for that, at his service. which i think you already disagreed with, lol. that was an old great-grandma type, so it's to be expected i guess.

    but yeah, i'd say your definition of religion is what i've always thought it to be. people should just be nice to other people, the end. :hippy:

    Ehh, its not really extreme lol. I think you might be reading it as more serious than it was? I put "pray" in quotes for a reason :ap:

    Now granted, at the time, its embarrassing as hell. But OTOH you also go back to your seats w/ your buddies and rag on each other for who is worse off for wear lol. And hopefully learn the valuable lesson that punctuality, proper attire, et al are things you should take seriously in certain places & when Mom says get your ass out of bed & get dressed its time to get your ass out of bed & get dressed.

    More community parenting/life lesson moment :dunno: legit no different than your parents telling you not to be a shit at a movie theater/restaurant IMO but to each their own.

    Yes, that is crazy! And sad they felt that way. I already told my preacher I was being cremated! A friend of mine said he wanted to be buried standing straight up with his arms over his head with his hands together so he could shoot out like a rocket when he's called home. :emoji_sweat_smile:

    My point, Jesus is the most important thing in my life. However, getting down to the dirty details such as cremation or burial? Not so important. Too often, it pushes people away. :dunno:

    I think I told you about the time the church ladies in the tiny, Georgia town I was in at the time came up to my door to ambush me while Matt was on a business trip (they waited till he was gone on purpose lmao) about how they never saw me at church and I needed to go with them and these were my church options! I was, naturally, inebriated and wearing a shirt that said, "I just can't adult today," or something like that with chicken nachos all over my grubby face cause I do what I like. They were there to save my poor yankee soul and I politely declined and made an excuse to get them off my damn porch.

    I've met plenty of nice church folks too, mind you! I just always remember that bizarre moment in my adult life where a posse of church ladies swarmed me and I thought it was the fed ex guy! :emoji_laughing:
