Hey y'all - idk if this has been discussed already, or shared in a better place or a better way, but I keep seeing return reviews for this issue, so I thought I'd make a post??? Sorry if this is not new info or not the right spot for this.

If your page says "Not Found" when you open a Qualtrics link, you can remove the part from the URL where it's trying to insert your MTurk ID. This is something like "&MID=" your ID number. I've found that removing that from the end of a URL gets the task to load just fine when I see this error.

I have seen quite a few return reviews for this reason, and just saw another now, so idk if this helps anybody, or if this is the right spot for this info but: thought I'd share for anybody who also gets these errors and is returning stuff because of them?

 

I'll send out bonuses today as well! We talked about the 2nd option, but I don't think we will change to that (if we did, the payment would adjust, so you would be paid the same effective amount). I know the rotations counting against moves make it tricky but we're not going to change that at this point after finishing the beta.

I totally understand what you mean about buggy I still like the way their old site felt. I have error 500 problems all the time. ...

I live in the same type of town/situation. After the Prolific changes they quit allowing me to perform studies. I mean, I have not seen any. They claim they are there, but, not that I can see, and I used to get many per day ????

We're doing our best to make sure as many people can take part as possible while maintaining data quality, security, and the integrity of our platform.

Here are a few reasons why you may be experiencing problems accessing or receiving studies:

1. You are using a VPN, proxy, or browser extension. These tools are used to anonymise web browsing. Please keep in mind that your workplace, public wifi, or other connections may use these tools.

2. Your internet provider is not on our whitelist (i.e. it is not an approved provider). We are working to improve this and make all safe connections accessible on Prolific.

3. You are on holiday or in a different country listed than the one listed on your account.

4. Your phone number is inconsistent with the country you have provided.

You are not banned from Prolific, however, if you continue to consistently experience these errors, I'm afraid it means you may not be take studies from this particular internet connection.

Please note that money can with withdrawn from your account as normal.

I'm not even smart enough to use a VPN, my internet provider is not smart enough to do sketchy shit, I do not leave my house because there's people out there, and I've had the same phone number since 2004. They just don't want to let me take survey.

 

I think I ended up doing something in my Avast virus scan software but I can't for the life of me remember what it was ...
