That's AWESOME. I'm glad you had a good psychiatrist that helped you through and was looking out for you. My therapist ruined me for life. I was a foster parent, a biological parent, trying to go to college and work and be a wife. I failed at all miserably cause I was so doped up I couldn't function. Finally, I picked up a drawing pad and started playing piano again and praying. That's what got me through to where I was a semi-functioning adult. I still can't stand a large crowd, I have to have an easy exit point no matter where we go or what we're doing, just a bunch of other things I won't bore you with. I feel so stupid about it because it happened so long ago, but it's something that I've dealt with for almost all my adult life and I don't see it changing at this point. :emoji_sweat_smile:

The school sent me to a counselor and the counselor told my dad I was in fact, not super dramatic of a kid, so much as having manic depression at a super young age. My dad insisted I was just dramatic and pulled me out of counseling against the school's wishes. When I was 15ish, I watched my mom, who I rarely saw as it was, have a total breakdown and helped hold her down as they sedated her against her will in the hospital and that wasn't the first time in my life that had happened. She def needed it, she was pretty out of control. When I got to college, I kinda connected the dots that my mom and sister had repeatedly melted down to the point of hospitalization, and I had similar reactions to things so I got myself help before shit hit the fan any worse. Shout out to Clemson for having good mental health programs in place for students, cause I fear what would have happened if I had not had a feasible way to seek help at that point. I'm sorry that happened to you, people really suck sometimes <3

The older I get the more I feel this way about crowds. Never had issues as a youngun, but now that I'm approaching geriatric years?

    Ugh.

Kid wants to go to Disneyland again and I'm all "and be trapped in the horriblest place on Earth with all those people?"

I'll go. I'll get into it and be happy, the dread ahead of time tho...

However, when we went to Vegas, I was fine. Those crowds don't bother me. Dunno why.

We are going to Disney in April and I'm already freaking out. Not just the crowds but all the ride with the queues that are enclosed with no windows and the doors are basically hidden. I panic every time. Oh and the airplane. I need to be medicated just to get in the car to go the airport. It's gonna be fun.
