Pretty much. I have to believe they've been planning this a long time. Ads are getting less and less sustainable with all the adblocks out there. You see it on Twitch, they actually took away the adblock if you're a twitch prime member. I don't trust Google to pretty much do anything for its userbase anymore. I'm preparing to make the swap to Firefox when this happens.
