While I do not like lying in surveys, if they are asking too much private info I'll change it a tad. Like I'll use my middle name for my "first name" when they ask for it (no diff, my mom uses both names all the time, lol...)

 

I mean, to be fair, some of them had clear right answers, tho. I had, say, a query for a mens carrhart long sleeved shirt, and then the item would in fact be a mens carrhart long sleeved shirt. If you were to say that's not relevant, you'd be wrong for sure. There were several recurring ones I saw like that, where the result was exactly what the query was. If someone was just mashing buttons, they'd for sure risk rejects.

 

I tried that recently and it never took off. Added a little more flour each day like you're supposed to and eventually it just seemed like I was wasting flour. It only bubbled up a little tiny bit each day and then just slumped back down. I threw the whole thing away after a week or so.

 

I was trying to figure out if a Manti Teo joke would pass muster or if people would be like, "I DO NOT get this reference in any way!"

 

I do not get this reference in any way.

I caught it, read the description on the preview page, and sent it straight back. ROI considering risk was just not there for me.

 

This is my third or so? Depending on the current ambient temp of your house and what flour you used for a starter and if you're measuring accurately (this is 100% the time for a scale), it can take well over a week to start a culture from complete scratch. A week isn't really enough to get a strong culture good enough for sourdough going unless you use a commerical starter to add to it. What type of flour were you using? What was the room like? Did you use slightly warm water to compensate for a colder room temp? Did you accidentally scald the crap out of your starter at any point? I've done that! Were you measuring in grams? Did you use filtered water? Etc.
