So I'm just going to go public (on your post, sorry!) that I do think calling it "rub and tug" is, perhaps, not so great since many of these women are trafficked and that seems to make light of a very serious, degrading, and horrific situation.

That said, they are everywhere.

Any massage place that has it's windows papered over with advertisements and you can't just comfortably walk into probably has something to hide. I've received many massages from reputable places that most definitely aren't this and they aren't hiding in darkened lobbies with papers all over the windows. (Note: probably, I'm not saying this is for sure, but any that have been busted in my town are just such shops.)

Sadly, there are many prostitution shops in my town under the guise of "massage parlors." I am less clear how many deal in trafficking, but I know there are some as when they are "busted" they hit the news.

Now, all that said, I'm completely in favor of legalizing sex workers/sex work and making it a profession someone can choose to enter into freely and openly, with protections and taxes and all the things that go with all other occupations.

See.. I'm so curious to learn more (b/c I legit have no clue this is a problem, because it seems like a wildly obvious problem to solve when there are NEON SIGNS involved) but yea I'll mosey along, my baddd

 

I don't know if it qualifies as common knowledge but it gets in the news whenever there's a big sting. And there are plenty of movies, documentaries, books, academic studies etc on the topic of human trafficking. It's not just sexual slavery, some nail salons and other businesses are sweatshops using coerced labor.

I guess it's Adam Schefter who reported Kraft isn't the biggest name among the johns but I haven't heard that confirmed by law enforcement. Maybe worth noting Trump has a golf club in Jupiter and he's friends with Kraft. Wonder if there are any big politicos among them..
