Sandybridge is just from a toastier era. Even if I cleaned it out it wouldn't be that much cooler. I'm also not thermal throttling so it doesn't really matter.

Honestly PSU is the last thing to worry about. CPUs take 100W max? Unless you have some old card like a 980 TI 450W should be all you ever need

I'm at 40c and I just woke up. You're fine, probably. My old CPU was at like 60+ constantly just idle and would hit 90+ when I actually tried to play video games. Poor thing can rest in peace now.

 

BIOS temperatures isn't a useful measure; your OS is sending HLTs all day to the processor, so you're using ~15% most of the day outside of intensive tasks, whereas in BIOS you're pegging one core at 100%

 

oh btw I'm at 80% CPU load so it isn't like I'm at full load or anything.

Outside of getting thermal throttled CPUs are rated for up to 110c? or something like that.

 

I doubt that he is using bios temp. Prob something like hw monitor.
