I'd recommend 24" 1080p or 27" 1440p. Depends on what you wanna do though. If you need high refresh for gaming you're going to pay a lot more than traditional 60hz panels.

Could also go ultrawide if you got the $$$. There's so many monitor options these days and different refreshes and panel tech (VA, TN, IPS) there's a lot of ground to cover.
