I never thought of that; considering some of the Turking pairing ups... I think we do better here.

What's nice is that both partners have a vested interest in success. There's definitely pressure for leaders, but that's part of the fun.

I typed this in a DM but I'd like to toss this out here, for the next round (and to maximize our earnings)

Followers:

• Always complete commands ("Finish"). It's hard, because you've got that short timer to deal with, but try to always "Finish" before it runs out, so the Leader can revise if they need to
  • Exception: If you have a single move and that'd put you on a card you need, grab card, and then "Finish" immediately on the next turn
• With no explicit instruction beyond "Get [x]", always rotate yourself, or, if there obviously aren't cards near you, get back on a path, and point yourself, so the leader can easily direct you (Ie, face a tower or a house or something)
• Take it in stride when a leader gets pissed at you for their mistake. (Not me, actually; had someone mention to "deselect the red card" when they meant "deselect the 3 blue hearts") There's a lot of pressure on the leader.

Leaders:

• Always switch camera view. It sucks because it's harder to see suits, but otherwise, you won't be able to see some of the numerals.
• Use the [Tab] key to end your turn
• Try to get the Follower where a lot of moves are needed, and put yourself where there's a lot of cards, some you can't use now (like many 1s).
• Try to keep the Follower on the opposite side of the board as you.
• Know how many rotations is what. Someone likes 'hard left' for a description, which is 2 rotations. 180º is 4 keypresses. Be consistent with how you communicate directions.
  
• Try to avoid ever having your follower hold. Sometimes it's inevitable, but if possible, always have them moving somewhere, even if it's just towards a path. (If they're always using last turn to Finish Command, you'll be able to direct them better, so this does depend on having a good follower)
• Don't get mad at your follower for your mistakes.
• Try not to make the follower wait the full timeout, but:
  • Take all the time you need to think ahead. Especially set up moves, where you ask the follower to stage.
• Ideally, always have follower set up for what you need next. If you're getting [x] next turn, and they got [y] but you'll need [z] after [x], have them ready for it. (Pretty much every leader I played with knew this, so maybe this is more useful for those in the junior pool.)

I really had some great partners yesterday, in both roles. One of my low games, I had a follower who wasted something like 4 turns, not moving at all, who was way out of sync because they weren't Finishing commands and were so far behind.

I know these are underpaid, especially considering some closed quals, but I honestly find them fun. I suspect that the best games I've had are with other TV'ers.
