Speaking of external hard drives, does anyone want to recommend a 1-3TB one that works solely w/ USB 2.0 and 3.0, without an external power cord?

I recently started having problems with my 8-9 yr. old Fantom 1TB, and thinking of what I had on there, and nowhere else, quickly copied everything onto my new 1TB WD My Passport once I got the Fantom working, and am now using the Passport for all of my backups.

I need another external drive, so I always have my stuff on two drives just in case.

Every reasonably priced 1-3TB drive (under $90) on Amazon has some reviews that are awful, talking of complete failure in under a few months! I don't know what to choose.
