I never buy them "stuff" throughout the year so I try to get them 1 big thing what they want on their birthdays. I know...I'm a sucker, but it usually saves me money in the long run.

I haven't had to do that in a while though...the "situps for sass" works so much better.

They used to be $400. Also, still don't see the point in every kid in the house getting their own console. Back in MA day we had to rotate days and we only got to play for an hour max each day. Two hours on weekends.

 

My brother and I always had our own handhelds but only one console. The switch is basically a handheld so it would make sense to give one to each kid.

The difference is a 2DS will only run you about $150 tops.

 

This is what we do. We only have one xbox 360 and one ps3. I won't get the ps4 or the xbox one. If my eldest wants those, he can buy it himself. But the switch...eh. I don't mind each of them having one of those.

 

It really is just a fancy handheld and I expect that at some point that Nintendo will kill off the DS line completely.

 

Where are you buying your 2DS from? You can easily find them for $50 to $60 a pop nowadays. Same with the original 3ds.

 

They pretty much already are given that the new Animal Crossing and Pokemon games are going to be for the Switch and not the 3DS (I think.)
