My eldest made a promise to himself to never drink alcohol. He is so weird about it. (NOT a bad thing) But he won't even eat my homemade buttercream cause it's made with real vanilla beans steeped in vodka. I have a drink every once in a while when we go to dinner, but it's never in our home. I've never made a big deal about it. And I don't think I have to worry about RJ...yet.

 

There's nothing wrong with drinking alcohol in and of itself, it's when you spend every waking moment as drunk as possible and live paycheck to paycheck so you can keep your habit that you might have a problem.

 

I just got asked if I have a technology addiction from my college kid....

Yep. But I just read that "child support is supposed to go to the child" in a post on book of faces. I have never understood that reasoning of keeping everything separate?

 

It took me a good 4-5 years to get over drinking and I don't think I ever really drank to get drunk till she passed away. Took a really long time for me to realize you can drink in moderation and it be okay. Took even longer for me to realize it's okay to get drunk occasionally as long as your in a safe place to do it and don't drive. Moderation Moderation Moderation for most everything really. From Pot to Liquor to Sex To Work. Moderation Moderation Moderation.

 

Spending child support on drugs isn't socially acceptable.

 

They must think child support must go directly into the kid's bank account/trust fund, because clearly child support goes directly to the kid and not supporting the rest of the family because this makes perfect sense.

I always found that funny, I'd like to respond yea all that food he eats and power he is using is totally not supporting him right?

 

I drink 3-4 times a year. Thanks to the DARE program my daughter thinks drinking any amount at all is horrible. I get the need for awareness, but being the mother of 5 I have had to explain to 5 individuals that a glass of wine is not going to harm me, nor does it make someone a bad person.

 

It's because they hear the cases of the parents spending it on purses and clothes(for only parent) and other frivolous shit that clearly isn't going to help the child at all and just assume if it's not going into the kids hands it's not supporting the child.

 

I made a promise to my DARE officer that I would never try drugs...
