Read: please go to bumfuck, SC and teach these kids who are 17 years old and still in the 7th grade, no one else will and we know you're desperate.

Sorry, my comment was about SC. But it's not necessarily the most attractive option:

Man, I don't remember any teachers needing a masters, but then again, Texas is like 47th in education. I just remember that teachers had to do one year teaching classes with another teacher so they got on the job training.

You don't everywhere. But in CA you need to do a credential program. If you get Masters you get paid better and have more options for teaching/administration. Plus you can teach at a junior college with a Masters. So worth the extra money for school for the increased options in earnings.

And that's how you quickly get disillusioned with the teaching systems as you find out you have no power and your administration hates you.

I don't think there's any way to successfully work part time and pay for your schooling. I've been to a private 4 year, where I'm now 80k in debt with parent plus loans that 17 year old me agreed would be financially responsible for instead of my parents. I dropped out due to medical reasons and enrolled at community college. I worked part time making 9 dollars an hour and it barely covered the 6 credits I was taking PLUS books. Now I've moved and I'm enrolled at GSU and I just found out I'm losing my grant money because I'm over on credits and I get to drop out again because my full time job doesn't even pay me enough for school.
Is it possible to pay for part of your schooling with a part time job? Yes. Will it make a considerable dent that you won't have to rely on outside loans or funding? Not even close.

I did it for two years. I only owed 400 bucks when I had to quit due to familial obligations and such. It was a state university. I know every situation is different. But with grants, it allowed me to do so.

Well, it can be done, sometimes.

I couldn't do it. Took me 13 years to get my undergrad degree. I went part time and worked my way through. Because of that, I never qualified for any aid except loans (I did get some scholarships to start with, but those didn't last 13 years). When I was a junior I had to quit working full time and just work part time to be able to take the classes I needed. Working part time still meant I earned to much to get grants, so I had to take out loans.

I tried, hard, to avoid loans but there simply was no way for me to pay my rent working part time so I could take the classes I needed at the times they were offered, so I took out loans. Or, I could have taken another 5 years to graduate, but it was time to finish.

My parents did not help me at all past my Freshman year when I got a little help but used mostly my savings.

I really gave it the old college try to avoid loans. 13 years is one helluva commitment to getting a degree.

As opposed to Syracuse, where you get automatic admission for the ability to read.
