OK, was just wondering because just people buying games digitally is putting gamestop out of business.

 

Physical media has been dead on PC for almost a decade now.

 

I mean, gamestop put gamestop out of business. It's a fucking trash company.

 

I know. It went smoothly too. Problem is is the console digital scene will be pushed at about the same time as the streaming scene so people will have a hard time separating the two. I'm 100% okay with pure digital though freakin ps4 games take forever to install on the system and the disc does nothing beyond that and a DRM check.

 

I refuse to go into Gamestop because I don't enjoy being hounded the second I walk in the door. I know what's out I know what I want or I just want to browse to look at the back of cases and shit to discover what's around that I might not know about.

They are trying to make us rent EVERYTHING. You can't even buy a tractor to plant turnips anymore. You have to buy one from India unless you want to pay John Deer like $100,000 to change the oil or they disabled it from satellite.

We're gonna lose this, too. Instant gratification is too powerful an impulse.

See what they do like Vidya is proffer microtransactions in lieu of Ownership. It's already over. They won.

This pattern applies to everything now. It's already THE pattern with software. Can you even 'buy' software anymore? It's all rented garbage.

 

While true, in the past 3 years digital purchasing on consoles went from 5% of sales to about 60% of sales.

And it's only going to get worse...I do find it frustrating but everyone is ok with it so here it is......

Meanwhile a friend of mine thinks you can function in life without the internet..uh yea ok.

 

I honestly wish they wouldn't have dumbed down Skyrim like they did. And Oblivion as well, although I never got to experience better. I mean, I know that's what made them successful but I want the RPG experience along with the graphics, updated engine, etc. There is nothing better than a good RPG with all the bells and whistles. And I don't currently have a gaming PC or anything capable of handling any real amounts of mods, so.. Sad panda. Even when I try to go back and play some of the old Dragon age games which I used to love.. it's just.. ugh.

 

The problem is that the consoles suck at digital methods of downloads. The PS4 does not max my connection so my brother's games and updates take FOREVER to download among other issues.

Also on PC we get steep discounts to make up for the fact that you can't really buy games physically along with having choice of marketplaces and you won't see that on the consoles.
