06/13 - Thirteen Thursday!

You probably have her on flea meds already, but something similar happened to my pup one time. She's a 99% inside lazy dog, and I try to keep the animals as unpoisoned as possible, so didn't see any need. The vet didn't see any evidence of fleas on her or the other dog and cat, so assumed they were allergies. She was prescribed some antihistamine, and then I think apoquel was next, not completely sure though. Anyway, that didn't work, and the vet suggested trying the flea meds next, just in case and because it's easier than whatever the next step was going to be. She started getting better after a few days and hasn't see any issues with that since.

I have wanted to solve this problem for decades. today is the day. @Hummingbirdee after I cook a small pot pie then want to freeze them. how long do you think I should let them sit out on the stove/counter before I put them in the freezer? I want to cover the pies with saran wrap to freeze them. or foil or parchment paper. and leave them in the mini pie pans I bake them in. I think they are made of ceramic or porcelin.

He's still a baby, weighs about 60 lbs. We just add one of the pills to a treat in the morning, has helped him a ton. And if the skin irritation gets too bad, oatmeal baths are the ultimate fix for him. Lather him up, brush his hair, let it sit for a few before rinse.

I usually tend to freeze them unbaked (filling done and tucked in the pie layers, freeze it till it's done, and then wrap it up), unless I have excessive leftovers or i'm making them for someone else. But, definitely let them cool completely before you freeze them, or you'll get freezer burn from the moisture/condensation. I would do foil and then plastic wrap over that. and put them in the freezer completely cooled, and you should be good to go for for a couple months easily! If you wanna make sure your crust is nice and perky when you bake them later, an egg wash on your top crust will help it perk up right before you bake them out of the freezer your containers sound like they should be fine, but make sure they don't have any warnings. I have some freezer to oven specific tupperwares and old ceramic type corningwares that I use for that type of thing, and I don't have an issue with those.

If you have any excess filling, it'll also freeze really well in a ziploc!
