14 is still pretty old for a small dog. I think small dogs live like 15~20 years? My aunt's dogs lived like forever.

She's going to the vet this weekend where I will beg and plead for help with dementia doggie. She has days where I'm not even sure she knows she's a dog. Other days she's like a puppy. Some weeks are good, some she wakes me up 3x's per night. She's weirdly sleeping under my bed now and I wake up in the morning and step on all the stuff she's managed to push out from under the bed. She gets "lost" in our yard at times. I could go on with all the weird crap she does. I'm praying vet has tranquilizers or something. I can deal with everything if she LETS ME SLEEP.

 

Ah. She's 72. That's not that old.

This just depressed me. If my dog is this fucking crazy as an 8 year old, what in holy hell is my 5 year old boy going to be like as an 8 year old?

 

Does she have a crate or a kennel of some sort? Some dogs feel safer in small enclosed spaces. My dog thinks the space under my bed is his "safe space" for example and if he goes under there I don't push him too hard to come out on anything but his own time. It's where he goes to hide when he doesn't want his ears cleaned or to be brushed etc.

 

I remember simpler times when I was on the "correct" side of these discussions exporting random gibberish to HitNotifier.
