Oh it's probably windows (doesn't happen with windows 7), but mine did something similar for a while (on firefox), and it seems to have stopped once I started refreshing the daily thread more often (I would usually let if auto-update all day long without refreshing). Since I started to refresh the daily thread every 2-3h during the day, it doesn't crash anymore. You may want to look at tabs that may be eating ram for a long time causing the crash.

if this happens when you have a bunch of tabs open on chrome it might be that your virtual memory is too low (increasing it might help). But if you 're accustomed to having a bunch of tabs open or several programs running at the same time and it only recently started crashing, sounds like it is because of the windows update. See if increasing your virtual memory helps?

What does your task manager say? It should show you what programs are utilizing your system resources and how much they're using.
