fwiw, I got Amazon information on all the whois requests I made, but I'm not smart enough to know if that stuff is easy to fake. The Amazon Music Backstage page itself looks weirdly unofficial, but then it links to email addresses at amazon.com domains, so if it's a scam it's a weird one.

If the surveys are unpaid though, that sounds like legit Amazon to me

lol, I seem to be extraordinarily averse to a lot of these social-science surveys.

The "gotcha" types of questions repulse me. I really hate those lol.

I'm not going to use the comment box at the end to explain what I really think. Not for 40 cents or whatever.

So I'm not doing those types of surveys anymore, because I wasn't doing them anyway. I was returning 80% of them.

 

Not limited to social science of course.

"Gotcha" questions are evil, in whatever types of survey they appear. I've encountered a variety of them.

Dear survey people, do not ask me "gotcha" questions. Oh wait, nvm, I won't be doing your surveys anymore. As soon as I smell your "gotchas" coming, I'm gone.

Posting here because it's where everybody is. So my apologies for being a little off topic, but is there a thread on this site about mobile turking by chance? Laptop is out of commission for a few weeks and any script like apps would be appreciated in the mean time.

 

Mobile turking is gonna be tough. You can do most hits on mobile, but finding the right ones is gonna be tough without a functional scraper and TV to back you up. They make Hit Scraper for mobile which would report TO ratings(green, red, yellow), but its pretty archaic looking. If you are just desperate to make a few bucks, you could do the mobile option, but if you are looking to efficiently turk, it's gonna be next to impossible.

No idea if there are other tools out there since I last tried to turk on mobile years ago. I tried and gave up almost instantly.

Looks like you could run scripts like PANDA and TV on mobile Chrome and FF. But still... It's not efficient. Atleast you might be able to get the nice lilttle green/red/yellow indicators next to each HIT so you could snag longer lasting HITs.
