    Throw a couple chicken in the attic. The problem should sort itself out. Either the chickens kill the snake, or the snake eats them and becomes heavy enough to fall through the roof and it's no longer in the attic.

    Put a couple chickens in the attic with balloons of poison inside them. There, if the snake eats them, he'll poison himself and die!

    Lower temp in the attic.
    Place a heat source in center of room.
    A 75w incandescent bulb should do the trick, in a small bendy desk lamp pointed at ground.
    Glue traps around the heat source.
    Have husband or kid take the glue trap oitside. If you want to be humane, veggie oil will remove the glue trap and not hurt the snake.

    meeses are basically blind and mostly run along the walls

    set out some cheapo spring-loaded mouse traps along the baseboards, you don't even have to bait them
