Just saw the poll.

Yeah, dog is allowed on the couch. Can't keep her off of it. She was 5 when we adopted her and seemed to have always been allowed on a couch.

Plus, she's a small dog so a lap dog really, and laps are on the couch.

Plus plus, I have cats. And as the poll says, cats go where they want. So try and tell dog it's cool for cats to be on couch/chair/counter/curtains/bathtub/sinks but not dog? (Fortunately, dog only wants on couch and not all the rest.)

But there are times she only wants to be NEAR the couch and her dog/cat beds. I think these are the times her legs won't work and let her jump up on couch. Or. She's just weird, dunno. Both.

My dog also does this. He has like 4~5 spots he likes to cycle through throughout the day. One of those is next to instead of on top of his couch.
