True, I hate just "randomy" selecting quals if they are never gonna use, especially since you're not compensated in any way....

 

what do you mean randomly selecting? If a qual hit goes up like those nips a week or so ago you just go do it.

Still trying to figure out the whole qual thing, lol. Up till now believe it or not, I've been manually searching for quals to submit during my "down" time. Other than the occasional qual hit of course

 

Proper qual hits aren't really up that often I don't really 'manually search' if I see one pop up I do it.

I run across so many HITS that say I'm missing qualifications (I don't mean the number of approved hits, "masters", or that sort of thing), and I don't understand "how" to qualify for them......

 

It depends on the hit. A lot of those quals are closed quals that aren't given out anymore though

Just so you know the "Request this qualification" button essentially does nothing except on auto-granted quals like PFA.

Requesters can only see those requests if they dig around in the CLI/API and all they really see is a list of the worker IDs who requested the qual. No info about those workers (like accepted %, # of HITs completed, or anything) so its possibly the most useless feature of all the useless features on mTurk.
