Okay so Dirt cheap in the grand scope of computer parts.

Don't get the best ram that's available. Ram is basically ram. Unless reviews say it breaks right away just get the cheaper option. You should be able to find something on newegg for 60-70 bucks if you're committed to 16GB.

Otherwise 8 GB is usually enough for people and you can easily find that for 40ish.

 

Depends what you're doing with it. If gaming, you want a good speed and you want dual channel.

 

Meh- . Most games don't have a performance boost from better ram. And with that rig other stuff is going to hold it back first before that matters.

Huh I usually hear it the other way, Capacity First [In terms of definitely get 8GBt], speed second, Duel channel is nice but usually not worth the price unless you're going all out.

They tested 8Gb and 16Gb in single and dual channel. 8Gb dual = 16Gb single < 16Gb dual two of the three games (third is doom and everything capped at 200fps). They also had 4Gb single and downclocked it and saw a big performance decrease.
