If I tie it back, the pony tail is uncomfortable, and I have to position my head in weird positions in order to not lie on it.

 

Me too! What's funny about the spiral curls is that my friend and I decided we could do it as a perm ourselves. TWO boxes of perm solution (each) and about a million rollers and after staying up all night and my hair was insanely curly.

Edit - this was 1991....

 

Either do a small braid or tie it up higher on your head. If I have my hair in a pony tail I can only sleep with it if it's really high on my head.

 

I definitely don't know how to braid my own hair, so I'll have to try the second option, lol
