11/14 - Thornbush Thursday!

We just had chili last night! We use a mix of beans, though - trying to remember now, but I think black beans and maybe pinto beans as well.

Mushrooms would be amazing, except my wife dislikes them so she'd be picking them out while I battle with my daughter to see who gets more.

 

I got work in my queue. I got up early to work cuz I have to take Mom to surgery today so will be sitting crocheting in a waiting room for a long time. But here I am talking food with y'all.

 

meatloaf is the first thing I learned to cook. No one had showed me how to cook anything before I got married so it was a lot of trial and error, but poor Dave ate everything I put in front of him

add the mushrooms last andjust scoop some out into another pan before adding the mushrooms I did this when someone gave me some peppers (forget what they where) that I wanted to put in my chili but knew I was the only one that was going to eat the realy spicy batch

 

Unfortunately no. That would at least be a decent reason. I'm keeping the kid as healthy as possible so she doesn't have to go through what I did growing up. I was overweight because of a quack doctor trying to treat my asthma (gave me the wrong steroids at age 6) and the fact that we were poor so we had to eat whatever was cheapest. As a result I was made fun of so viciously that to this day I have a hard time eating in front of people and I'm 34 years old, and even though I'm healthy now, I still sometimes will not leave the house because I "don't look good enough". My husband has helped with a lot of that anxiety, but it's still there. So I just cut potatoes and bread is kept at a minimal. It forces us to use healthier options and to make better choices. I just don't want my baby hurt like I was.

 

If I actually need to make money this is the exact reason I stay out of this place. lmao
