This is my biggest gripe w/ the "$2/hr" study.. they used fucking students they forced to sign up to mturk - UP TO AND INCLUDING TELLING THEM TO SHARE ACCOUNTS - and 1,000,000 of the tasks were p9r AND they tracked their time on forums against their hourly

In other news, Uber drivers who install the app but then go get drunk at a bar so they don't drive also have terrible hourlies.

 

So ok, I've done less than 100 hits this week. But a bunch of those were The Choice Lab so I made bank. One of my best weeks this year.

And I probably do under 200 hits per week. But I don't make chump change. I try and do more when closed qual batches post but most days because of my FT job I rely on survey types or things like Choice Lab.

So maybe not a Power Turker, but I am a Power Earner!

Also invalidating it as genuine work for both sides, requesters and workers. All those reports that are like, "In a study conducted on Amazon Mechanical Turk..." can be read as "Lulz you got opinions from a bunch of homeless people with their thumbs up their butt making pennies an hour." Not to mention what thfym was saying about being invalidated as a worker. I've gotten two legit jobs off of mturk, both that do real things in the real world, but yeah sure, I'm just like whatsherfuck making $5/day.

sorry, just logged in again, just found out about my 20th reunion of high school. Some dork made a group page. Someone posted on FB of people who died. My twin brother died. Showed him in all of these ways I dont want him remembered. I didnt authorize this shite. Got him drinking out of a bong and doing cheers with shot. Thats not how him remembered. Those were party shots that I dont want posted. Nobody asked me for nice pictures
