See the thing that gets me is that we CHECKED the breaker box and it was fine before he showed up. Then now he claims it's the breaker. Sure! He spend 6 hrs looking for a very specific breaker only to come back and tell me the breaker box HE WAS JUST IN is actually broken instead. Now he has to replace the whole thing and when he leaves he goes 'we MIGHT be there tomorrow'. I looked at him and like 'MIGHT?!' He just nodded and fucking left.

Huh. Is he an HVAC guy or an electrician?

Some breakers are hard to find. Our electrician just went on a wild goose chase looking for a specific breaker for an older home and we almost had to replace everything cuz he didn't think he could get them any more. But he found one. So we bought some time (by we, I mean the owner of the rental I manage, lol.) But it does seem odd that now it's not the breaker, it's the box. Unless he took the breaker with him and some pro told him nope, breaker is fine and it must be the box. Which does happen. But this did go down all weird like and would totally make me lose a little confidence in their competence.

I may have encouraged it.

 

No he's HVAC and he never took anything with him. He told us he looked at the part then drove an entire state away looking for it because he couldn't find it due to it's age even though it's only from '08. I'm just not very confident in the guy after he was standing outside the window cussing up a storm while in his words 'jerry rigging it' to fit and then couldn't and THEN told us it was broken. So :Shrug: Hope we don't die in a fire haha!
