FUCK, I actually paid a lot of attention to the bubble hell that this survey was

 

that's wireless like 5 feet from router but I'm paying for I think up to 60 down, so not gonna be much faster than that anyways

 

Wireless in the next room over. I'm thinking I need to go hard wired to improve the latency maybe? Any experts want to chime in?

My modem is in the living room and I'm in an open loft off to the right of that room.

 

Wireless is heavily dependent upon what it's going through as well as interference and what band you are using. Always try to use 5.8 when you can. Also keep in mind many game controllers and other devices are on 2.4 so that gets in the way too.

 

You always get better speed, latency etc etc if you are hard wired. It's why the company will tell you they only support that speed tier if you are hard wired.

New houses actually run ethernet through the walls, it's part of your outlets and such so you plug the modem into it and it lights it up for every room in the house to plug in your devices, that shit must be nice.

 

I figure I'll wait until I get a new computer here shortly. I have a piece of garbage Acer all in one. It gets the job done but ...
