    I bought her a black diamond necklace/earring combo because she's been wanting new earrings. However, they are smaller than I expected. Now I understand that this is ultimately probably fine but I should have actually done the math and looked at the actual stone size but myeh.

    I don't do jewelry and have never bought any really. Hell, my wedding ring was my grandfather's that got passed down so I didn't even have to think about that. I'm probably going to give her it tonight because like I said earlier I don't feel comfortable giving to her at Christmas considering the money situation of her parents.

    For games, you will see a slight improvement in loading times by having them on an SSD, but you likely won't see an improvement in performance, so you don't need one (for games), unless you want to splurge by a larger SSD.

    For the OS, I would recommend an NVME. Please make sure your motherboard not only has the m.2 slot but that it's a PCIe slot and not a SATA. SATA m.2 have the same speed as SATA 2.5inch SSDs, so no need to pay more if that's what you have (m.2 are usually pricier than regular SSDs).
    If it is a PCIe connection, then you should see a slight improvement by having a NVME drive. You probably don't need some super high end stuff so going for something with QLC (which degrade faster than TLC > MLC > SLC) shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you have the money and want to spend it, going for a TLC NVME SSD for the OS + a SATA SSD for the games + the HDD for media file storage would be a good set-up.

    That's what her wedding ring is so that's why I went that way. I figured it would match and if nothing else it was a safe buy.

    I have to pick her up from work tonight so I'm going to give her a bottle of wine and the earrings. Maybe the wine will ease the blow of the earrings? Or I dunno at least give her something to hit me with.
