She gets pain and diarrhea from it. It's not lactose intolerance either. It's almost an allergy. She went to two specialists. Bunch of tests and nada. Just can't have anything with milk products. It's such a weird thing to get in your 60s. There's also so many things with dairy too. Butter is everywhere.

Ugh, that sucks! My friend Becky is both allergic to (cow) dairy and has celiacs, so no gluten. Cooking for her is supes fun. Can your mom tolerate goat milk, by chance? Becky will get deathly allergic reactions from cow dairy, but is fine with goaty stuff so I've found out that Tjs has goats milk cheddar and gouda and all sorts of stuff. I even made goats milk butter & ice cream this year and they were pretty good!

Smaller can be better sometimes. When my sister's now-husband proposed, he gave her this huge gaudy emerald ring (her birthstone), but she prefers more subtle, delicate jewelry.
