@Tripsa @RicanGuy86 any idea what their explanation was? Or was it just "sorry we fucked up, please come back later"?

I don't know. I know for I fact I registered a day or two after the invitations were sent, but I figured there wasn't a cutoff date. I have to check my e-mails. I just chalked it up to bad decision making on my part, and learned my lesson(s).

Basically something about not having the funds to pay those that weren't invited, sounded like a cop out more then admitting they wanted free work or saying they fucked up by allowing anyone to register since they left registrations open. The site had different user levels and your level would go up depending on the amount of hits you did/approved. Going up a level allowed you access to tasks others with lower levels couldn't do.

Those that did get paid often complained about payments not going thru when they announced, some not even getting payed and certain few always getting paid when others weren't. They paid people thru mturk by issuing bonuses.
The site seemed like a clusterfuck with people running it not having a clue on how to run a site right. The site itself had a plain layout that looked a bit similar to the new turker site with way less functionality and gave off a "GPT" site vide more then a crowd worker site.

I got paid and had no issues with Daemo, but I honestly thought it was a PhD student's project about crowd sourcing work. The tasks seemed more like sample tasks than work anyone actually wanted done, so I don't think they were looking for free work. I just assumed they didn't expect people who weren't invited to register since requesters don't seem to realize MTurk communities exist. Any way, the site was buggy and cumbersome which added to my assumption that it was a research project, I guess I was wrong. :p

It was a student project, wasn't it? I was one of the lucky ones who got paid, up till the final payment which was short.

Ah, yep. Just a mini-batch of 14 forty-centers. I was actually fairly busy at that time and got my last one submitted with <10 sec left. :bolt: Probably my favorite (quickest) batch from them so far, though!
