I listened to the audiobook for The Stand...partially while I was camping in Yosemite, and I fell asleep while listening to it and woke up at about 3am to find SOMEONE didn't put all the food in the bear locker. My soul briefly left my body:emoji_laughing: And then my friend kept scaring the hell out of me in the dark on purpose. :bearnielazer::bearnielazer::bearnielazer:

I do not count a bonus until I see it, because it could be a hour or 3 months before you get it, If you even get it.

Did you watch Season 1? You gotta watch Season 1 before Season 2. At first they don't seem related, but they are. Not a spoiler, I think one preview gives that away. I was watching the last one for Season 2 that dropped last night in the car when picking up kiddo from school. Usually I love it when my kid gets to the car, today I was all...crud, gotta stop watching!

I think you'll like it based on what you've said. His earlier stuff was one offs that we're very good. I ran into him because he finished the Wheel of Time Trilogy at Jordan's wife's bequest. His best stuff by far is the Stormlight Archive, but Mistborn is a close second.

Working this side gig is the only reason I have money for extras like presents!!!

Main job pays the bills and our living needs. Mturk lets us go to the movies and lets me buy presents. So I don't, technically, need it to get by but life would suck without Christmas presents.

Are we talking about low fantasy? Because for that my all time favorite is still Joe Abercrombie. Maybe a bit too grimdark for teenagers, though. Like imagine if Game of Thrones were written by a competent author.

PE is merely a bureaucratic formality.. True remunerations is quantified through ambition and drive, which can only be achieved by disregarding all valuation tied to an individual's exertion.

I misspoke when I said trilogy, It was 13 books. No not low fantasy, everything is in it's own worlds although he has written some YA low fantasy.

Also, if you didn't watch it, watch 11/22/63 on Hulu during your free trial.

James Franco is in it, based on Stephen King story. Pretty darn good imho.

Fantasy, but without a super heavy focus on like wizards and magic and stuff. Things like Discworld or the Dragonlance novels would be high fantasy. Things like Game of Thrones or The First Law or The Lies of Locke Lamora are low fantasy.

Fantasy writing that sort of intrudes on the real world as opposed to high fantasy were thing take place in their own setting.

You're thinking of contemporary fantasy, I believe. I've read a few like that, but can't remember the name.

I loved the first book, but I'm kinda eh on the third and is the fourth one even out, because I haven't kept up in a while.
