ahhh.. nasty. I am just thankful that I don't have to deal with anything bigger than a brown recluse. I did see an article that a woman was stung by a scorpion on a commercial jet the other day so that's nice to know.

My sister was really into it, so I was aware through her and her friends. I'm now a huge fan though, so I outgrew the popular-thing-aversion.
Oh no I don't feel that shame anymore. Just my emo teen self did - same reason I never wore makeup, because the only thing worse than being ugly was being ugly but thinking I could do anything to be less ugly. Now I don't wear makeup because I am lazy af :emoji_joy: - but I'm also neither ugly, nor defined by my appearance.

I moved all the ones I found outside when I could. A couple lived next to my gas meter and ate the ants that kept trying to come in my kitchen window. I named the big female "Gerald," and she was pretty chill. I told her that as long as she didn't try and crawl back inside my house, we were coo.

My oldest is nearly the same age as you (she will be 27 in January) so she, too, grew up with Harry.

She says now it was a humongous part of her childhood.

I remember when the first movie came out. It opened about three weeks after my younger daughter died. My ass was still in line with the oldest and her brother to see that movie even though the last place I wanted to be was around a bunch of kids. But it was SUCH a big deal, such an overwhelmingly awesome thing, I was there. And I had invested so much in that world myself reading all the books.

I was a full on adult when they came out, of course, but they were pretty captivating! And a lot of fun to share with kids. It wasn't like we had to "pretend" to like the same things the kids liked. We all loved them!!

Oh yeah, speaking of, the spotted orb weaver that lives on my back porch came back again this year. Not sure if it's the same one because I have no idea how long spiders live, but it's the same sort of spider so it's the same one in my mind. She's such a qt. I never gave her a name, though.

Just listened to the intro to Pet Sematary and found out that is the one book where King himself thought he might have gone too far. For the same reasons it goes too far for me! That was interesting to find out. Now off to keep listening to it as I walk my black dog in the dark while kiddo runs.

Ya know. Hm. Mebbe I should listen to something else in that scenario....:emoji_thinking:

Wow, those people peaked in high school and never had it better? That sounds kinda sad, really. High school sucked for me, but it could've been so much worse, and I'm doing way better now than I ever was back then.

Ok darn it. No judging allowed guys cause we're still working on this part of the house to (no surprise) and we need to redo the shelves but here's just a few of mine. I have more in storage, and then the kindle versions.

See, this is exactly why I fly private!

    Commercial flying, gross!

That being said, the only commerical flight I've taken in like 3 years was Spirit Airlines and a red eye:emoji_joy:

When I was a kid all my allowance usually went toward books. Then our house flooded and I lost all my books. I don't think I can handle that heartache again.
