I usually just see word, and my mnemonic device for useless trivia kicks in and figures out a keyword for a relevant gif. xD Its a gif(t) I guess?

Mine are indoor cats. If outside they'd be run over or come home with a really bad crack habit.

This is why you keep your cat indoors, where it's safe. Outdoor cats live (on average) for like a third of the lifespan of a healthy and well-cared for indoor cat.

See, thats what gets me. I see the longing for outsideness on their little kitty faces, and I cant help but acquiesce to their demands. Their fuzzy little demands. :emoji_hugging:

The whole Bay Area is crack whacked...but it isn't too much an issue in my immediate neighborhood.

While it's true that some cats never adjust to living indoors, most of them are happier inside where they're kept occupied with being cared for, being fed tons of treats, and having many toys and human slaves at their bidding. Plus, outdoor cats kill something like 3 billion birds a year because they hunt for fun.

Yeah I agree...it's why I agreed to rent this shithole a year ago and fix it up. It has and outside deck area that is huge and they can do their outside things without being able to get out of the building.

Mmm, there may be something to your argument. I will say that 3 billion is an impressive number, though.

It's not your mom's fault you didn't think outside the box. I told my daughter I wanted a grandchild. She went out the next day, adopted a kitten and sent me a picture

They're considered a pest animal for a reason (though if you take care of your cat I have nothing against that, it's just most people with "outdoor" cats really just have strays they feed sometimes.)

Ohh, no. Every outside cat Ive ever had has had free-reign to come inside, litterbox, food dish, vaccinations, etc. The last one I had when I still lived in town, Master Roshi(Orange Tabby), used to kill birds and leave them on the porch for me to find, then go and rumble with the other neighborhood cats before coming home to chill and watch Ghost Adventures xD
However, I can see how in a more urban type scenario how they could be seen as a pest, I know in Phoenix they finally started writing people tickets for feeding strays, like thirty or forty at a time just swarming this old ladies house down the street. Every damn day. x_x

My first kitty was lost when we got him - he had def been someone else's cat, he was wearing a collar but it had been so long & he'd grown so much we had to cut his collar off - so we kept him inside for like 6 months. He hatedddd it so hard. He was always trying to get out, which was fairly easy when my bf came in 'cause he could just zip through the wheelchair wheels. He was so desperate to get out again -- one time we woke up in the middle of the night to his screaming; he had been scratching at the door and got a claw stuck in the middle hinge on the door, he was stuck hanging by a single toenail and I guess didn't realize he could stand, musta been hella painful. We hate that he goes outside now, and our newer kit is indoor only, but Oscar would just hate his life if kept inside.
