Growing up on a ranch, we have always had at least one heeler, they really are great dogs. The last one we had liked to herd the chickens around, super protective of them and everything. Haha

Great pic! They are super awesome herding dogs. We had a neighbor with sheep that had three and a neighbor here in (rural) town that has one and they are such smart dogs.
We've always had Goldens... not as smart, but if you have a ball they are your best friend forever.

Thats what my significant other brought to the picture when we got together. A golden named Murphy. Haha. Hes a sweetheart too. We used to live way up on a ridge and have a fun flock of ravens that hung out by our house (and owls and thrush, etc). My husbands Dad also used to keep tumbler pigeons up in the Upper Peninsula which are the craziest flocks of birds I have ever seen.
Sounds like you have quite the wildlife sanctuary.
We're in town now with a teeny backyard but trying to find a house a little bit out of town so we can have at least a dog again. Our last Golden (Mochi) lived to be 17 and we really miss our old guy.

Ah thats super cool. Every time I think of pigeons, I think of Mike Tyson. Lol. Weird. But yeah! I live out in the middle of nowhere, so all sorts of animals are always around. Theres deer and elk, mountain lions, bobcats, etc etc. I saw a Great Horned Owl the other day just chilling on a mesquite tree, that was cool.
Im gonna be honest, I rarely leave. Im not a huge fan of people, and I have agoraphobia something fierce, so this is basically the most human interaction I get every day aside from my lady. Haha. I would much rather be around animals than the teeming masses of people that live in town. x_X
