(I didn't see my first microwave until I was 11. And even then it was a luxury that only one person I knew had. Nothing was microwaved. I didn't own my own microwave until I was 20!)

You should be more concerned about the "Food Grade PP"

That's how we do them all the time. I'm too impatient to wait for them to be done in the oven. :dunno:

My favorite potatoes are done on the grill.

Chop them up and throw them in foil with butter, salt, rosemary. Seal foil, put on grill, walk away.

Damn. Now I need to make those this weekend. I'll just grill in the garage.

Absolutely! Most baked potato recipes I've seen in the past and later ignored don't have you cook them long or hot enough to get that crispy skin which is the hallmark of serious spud success!

bon fire potatoes wrapped in tin foil and put on coals are awesome too, especially when they absorb the flavor of the tires you're burning

Catfish is also really good that way. Chewy like rubber, too!

(In all seriousness, catfish on the grill or coals in foil and butter is amazeballs)

funny story, my friend was moving out of her house and i was helping since she said i could have some things as payment. there was ^ that mixer (but blue) there and she was going to toss it since she claimed it didnt work. i looked at her and said id take it, and she was like idgaf, it doesnt work, whatver. took it home that night after helping and found that the unlock stand switch was bent and curled up to where you couldnt pull it. i did and whammo. nice mixer that can do anything i need it to

parboil, veggie steamer, the skin falls right off, add milk/salt/butter/sour cream, use hand masher just to break them up. then hand blender and bam, done. i have maybe a couple super small lumps ever. makes amazing mashed potatoes, even better if you leave skin on

Yeah. Just don't wrap it in foil. And if you do...take video. And make sure you use the turkerhub referal code when buying your new microwave.

I wish I had time to cook the way I'd like. That's a flat out luxury for me at this point in life.

Single mom. Two jobs. One requires me to leave the house all day. I'm just proud I cook and bake from scratch daily even if I do use the blasphemous microwave to help speed things up. Kid had almost no processed foods at all until he started school. Made all of our baby food.

My life is awesome, and I'm not Grinching. Just. No time to wait two hours for potatoes. Maybe on a weekend, but on the daily? No.

I'm trying to convince my wife hiring a nanny is totally a good idea, be careful or you'll find yourself kidnapped & taking care of a newborn instead of your own kids.

Which is also probably the only way I'll ever be able to afford a nanny so.. yea watch your six there are lots of people here who I'm sure would sell your addy in a heartbeat.

How do you look in a french maid outfit btw? :emoji_thinking:

I hope that person has a respirator on! Or something not to breathe that in! OMG!

It's been over 15 years since I was last pregnant, but I STILL won't go near the microwave when it's on. When I was pg I would press the start button then run away. Belly was too close to microwave and I didn't want to fry the kids' brains or rapidly dividing cells.
