That depends entirely on the type of laser. If you are talking most solid states like Yttrium aluminum garnet or sapphire could be quite a bit but some gases like Helium Neon and your Diode lasers are fairly cheap. Of course one must also consider what power supply is necessary as those can be more then the laser itself
