We now have a cat playground. Really glad Kiddo still lives with me otherwise I would totally be that middle aged spinster cat lady.

@jessers the balls in the grass toy just arrived and Lucy is going crazy for it. Spencer is just sitting there staring at Lucy going crazy.

And the cat tunnel was a magnificent find at the 99 cent store! (Though, it cost 2.99, but still...) Spencer is so big he barely fits into it but he still goes in anyway and has fun.

 

i live alone and my living room looks like a toddler lives here because of how spoiled my cats and dog are. it's the best way to be. i'm glad lucy loves the grass! such a good investment for just a couple bucks

I had folded laundry and I put it where all the cat toys are in this pic. I told Kid to pick up his laundry, it's getting in the way of the cat playground, lol.

yes, cheap cat toys are the way to go!! I was thinking of a cat tunnel since Spence likes to hide in and under things. But they all looked too small for him. But when I came across this one in the 99 cent store I thought...well, can't beat that price! And the grass toy was all of $5 so...really, if this stuff gets destroyed it's not that big of a financial loss and now all of the cats have toys they like. Lucy is my ball chaser, Spencer loves the blue wand thingy and Lotta was the first cat in the tunnel. Lotta loves lasers the most, though. That's her jam.

 

my cat mister loses. his. mind. over lasers and lights and sun reflecting off of things. in the summer, the light comes into the kitchen in a very specific area, and he will be sitting there first thing in the morning staring at it, waiting to attack. and after he was introduced to laser lights, he thinks any click noise, like the button being pressed, is a laser, and starts looking around for it. the thing is, he knows it's human controlled. when i decide to stop with the laser, he'll sit there staring at me... back at the laser, back to me, back at the laser, back at me, "well????"

next thing you need is a climbable tree thing, spencer would probably love that. but like, go all out with a whole kingdom:

I have a smaller one, that is just window height. That's Lucy's domain, though. Lotta isn't interested, she'll scratch it but won't go up it. Spencer never even looks at it.

Lucy likes to be up high and she would adore the cat kingdom. Maybe, some day, when I'm all alone...lol.

I have my contractor bringing me some carpet remnants to replace the carpet Lucy has shredded to the bare wood. In just over a year she killed all three legs. Fortunately, I can get free carpet bits and have a staple gun, so I can fix it right back up.
