I mean, cheese with apples and pears and such is a normal cheese plate combination and a tasty one at that! The cheese in the crust adds more of savory contrast to the sweet apple filling and makes a nice texture crust. I usually make a streusel cinnamon crumble topping and it's gone by lunchtime when I put it out haha. Next tme you have apples and cheddar, you should try a slice of them together! If you're feeling frisky, wash it down with a glass of wine!
