i would normally agree if this setup didnt have the OOS tracking (supposedly) on the website when you try and order things and they dont have any

 

The OOS tracking isn't perfect... especially right now. Keep in mind there are people with things in their carts. LOTs of people in the stores with things in their carts. It's a near impossible situation to get it right. This all also depends on having accurate on hands in the entire store for thousands and thousands of skus. It's just not gonna happen. Coming from someone who worked there a very long time.

 

I'm fine on groceries, everything I wanted was still there (fresh fruit, salads, milk, etc...no one is panic buying produce!).

But the one thing I was terrified I would not be able to find today since it's the last week of sales was Girl Scout Cookies.

Fortunately one brave girl and her parents had set up a table outside of my local grocery store and I was able to pick up my last four boxes for this year.

Phew. Crises averted.

even on non panic days sometimes stuff that was in stock when I ordered is not there when they fill my order because someone has it in their shopping cart walking around the store.

It happens. shrug.

 

Also, when I told my teen I scored him two more boxes of thin mints he actually put down his game controller, gave me two thumbs up and a huge smile.

It's the little things that melt a mom's heart, like when something you do is actually important enough to them to stop gaming for 2.3 seconds.

I'm running out of room in my freezer for thin mints.

 

I had to rearrange stuff to fit the four boxes I bought lol. Both of my freezers are normally pretty stocked as I freeze a bunch of stuff I make (like I have about 20 cups of home made chicken broth frozen in different jars and about 15 different servings of meals I made in different containers).

But. Girl. Scout. Cookies.

Those will get me through tough times. Will make space for those.
