One more and I'll stop. These are simple drop biscuits. They could be considered an abomination by some, but I just call it cheap eats.
When you're hungry, or low on money, these are great. Easy. They don't rise so you want to make sure you scoop these out as large as you want them.

3 cups of flour
1 stick melted butter
Any kind of milk or heavy cream you have on hand.


Seasonings are optional, I use a lot of garlic salt

Add butter to flour, add your milk or whatever you have to the flour a little at a time and stir just til combined. Only add enough milk so that your dough is not dry, but that the scoop of dough still holds it's shape. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes, depending on how large your scoops are.

Optional - brush the tops with melted butter and broil til brown

You can, but you'd have to play with the amounts since I only use this in a hurry. You can scoop them as thick as you want so you don't really need them to rise. They're supposed to be thick and chewy rather than light and fluffy.

i don't know why i'm so bagel themed lately. bagels are good.

 

I love bagels. I tear off pieces and use the pieces to scoop up ungodly amounts of plain cream cheese.

 

That's what bagels are for, right? A cream cheese delivery system?

Ah see...I'm a plain jane or jalapeno bagel kinda gal. I have to have my plain cream cheese. I don't typically eat any other bagels.

i go through a variety, when i lived elsewhere a bakery was in walking distance and they made different bagels daily (well other than a few daily ones). i think the best was the apple cinnamon raisin bagel for sweet and the asiago italian spiced bagel for savory

 

fair enough, i eat a ton of fruit so i cheat at times with the dips

 

They do sound good. I'm just weird about trying new foods. I would probably really like the sweet ones!
