i'm usually a cold hearted Grinch around 97.8ish and i've been 99.1-99.3 a few times this week which isn't technically a fever but just enough for me to assume i'm definitely going to die in a few hours, multiple times a day.

Let's be honest though, if I/we have to get a variety of it, that's one I don't mind having. I've already accepted the fact that I'll get it in the next year or so. I just don't want the one where it hits me like a ton of bricks and I can't breathe and I die. (And I also don't want to unwittingly transmit it to someone else.) If this is it, then it's barely even a mild annoyance. And my son and I have been completely self-quarantining ourselves with zero contact outside our home for weeks now. Won't be surprised at all if I'm tested at some much later date and find out that I've already had it. But also won't be surprised if I haven't.

What a time to be alive.

 

I'm usually normal, 98.6. But I'm always above 99.4 now. Spiked up to 100.4 twice. Hovers at 99.8 a lot.

Annoying.

But, could also be menopause...that can cause body temp to rise sometimes.

Honestly, the issue with this virus isn't the virus, it's our immune response to beating it. And because all of us are different, we all could react differently to it, take longer or shorter to fight it off, be successful one day, not so much the next, etc.

that's also why people with more compromised immune systems are at bigger risk. This virus brings about a more haywire immune response than, say, the common cold, so it's more dicey (we have zero immunities to it, so, we're screwed!)

Oh! Well that's just great! Did you leave off the bit at the end where after the upwards of two months one dies a slow agonizing death?
Actually I'm not too worried about it. And @tricker just coincidentally mentioned something similar to my thoughts.
After 40+ years or excessive smoking and drinking, I figure my immune system has built itself up to where I'll live to be 100!

 

Hate to break it to ya, hun, but that's not how this works. Those two things put you at much, much greater risk!

So if you are doing both still, stay inside really. you're super high risk for this disease.

I have an autoimmune disease that I always forget about as it's technically "in remission" so I'm theoretically at risk, but I quit smoking and drinking a long while ago so those two risk factors are off the table for me, thank goodness.

 

@Bob W just wanna be clear: I say this with ZERO judgement! You drink and smoke all you want!!! Just...don't leave the house so you don't catch this nasty bug and stay safe, mkay??
