When a hit is posted here from TV, and it gets approved afterwards, does the post get updated automatically to show it was approved (or rejected)?

 

No, it'll only show as approved/rejected if it was in that state when you post the export.

 

Is is any better to wait to post until a hit is approved/rejected, or is it more helpful to post right away so others have more of a chance to catch it as well?
Or does it not really matter?

 

This is just my opinion but I think it's better right after you've done it so others can get it. I sometimes will post it once I catch it and it's in my queue so others can grab it since it's still floating around if I know it has a longer timer or I'm not doing it right away to give a review.

 

How do you post one before you've worked it?

 

Use the turkerview export button, it should be a yellow arrow next to the HIT title when you view on main Mturk HIT menu.
In my preference I make sure to send it out asap when it's posted, some HIT go fast and others are slow. I try to put it out to anyone who wants a fair share.

 

In your queue each hit will have this orange arrow next to the hit name (on the left of it). I click that and then click Turkerview Forum and that exports it here. It'll look like the posts from @afallstarxfall !

Pros:
The messages were all on innocuous topics. I'm really tired of similar tasks that make workers sift through hateful Twitter messages, so this was a nice change of pace.

Cons:
- Ton of writing; you have to justify your slider rating on each and every message. No minimum.
- Threat of rejection if you finish too quickly, but 20-25 minutes makes this borderline unpaid, considering how writing-heavy it is.
