I have been using mobile phones constantly since the mid-1990s. My first mobile phone was a Motorola StarTac, provided by a client who wanted me to be on call for their retail stores which were dotted around New Zealand. At the time it was expensive and swish and very, very fancy. A couple of years later I was issued a mobile phone by my consulting company.

I have never, in all my life, had my own personal mobile phone. I've always just used the phone that my company at the time provided me.
