We had similar. It literally just got deposited 3 days ago. I kept checking the IRS.gov site and re-entering our direct deposit data. For checks, it seems like those are still going out but are taking weeks to arrive in the mail.
You may want to double check that. Have you used the same account over the years? Someone else could've gotten your money instead.
No, no. It's actually a good thing, because they're actually catching up. I did a metric shit-ton of OTR travelling work in a dozen states, then my daughter was born and my boss "laid me off" so I could pull unemployment to go home for the birth and recovery and all that jazz. I should've actually hired an accountant that year to do my taxes, but was stubborn and naive. It was an absolute clusterfuck because each state wanted their share of the money I made in the other states. Ohio, Texas, and Oklahoma still owe me about $100 each, but meh. If they're so hard up they'll "lose" my out-of-state worker return, they can keep it and hopefully use it for their damn roads. This letter just means they finally got their shit straight and everything's paid up and in the clear. So if I move back to KS, I can finally get a tax clearance and my buddy who has a top-floor corner office with "Executive manager" in his title can get me a job in his Dept. It's a definite win.
