I was going to respond to your post about your mother's height in a certain way, but realized you might not share my 'tude.
(Did that sound good? I thought 'tude would make me sound more socially acceptable than spelling it out like I wanted to!)
Anyway, what I was getting at was that in my generation it was generally accepted that a guy was going to be equal in height
and probably taller than his father. Didn't happen! I'm pretty ticked off about it. Dad was 5'8" and Mom was 5'2".
I wound up exactly in the middle. This is not a good height for a male in this country. Trust me. I understand various people's
uncomfortable feelings of discrimination more than you might expect! Your Mom might have felt a little of that, depending on
her age. When I was young, similarly young women would be taken to the doctor for hormone shots if it looked like they were
at any chance of winding up as basketball players.
