    Black Licorice was only ever popular because back in the day the choice was between licorice and literal tree-bark, Personally I'd take the tree-bark black licorice is revolting.

    I'll certainly forgive the polite **** comment, because your overall comment was entirely correct!
    As much as I like it, I'd never give it out to TOTers, since it's such a controversial issue.
    I usually give out chocolates with Scotch inside. Although Scotch is another 'acquired taste', I've never had my house 'egged'! :emoji_joy:

    My husband likes to trick me with jelly beans. Black licorice or chocolate. Terrible game. I trick him back with buttered popcorn or pina-colada. Buttered popcorn is the single better jelly bean flavor.

    This reminds me of a story my grandma told me. They used to play "blow out the candle" which involved blindfolding some naive kid and having them blow out the candle, said "candle" was a cats butthole. I imagine they had nothing better to do what with no electricity and all. Black licorice is the cats bunghole of candy.
